Throughout the years I've encountered lots of people, each with their own stories, own ideas; nearly everyone who stayed with me have 1 thing in common. They are passionate about what they do. Loving to do something seems key to being good at something. All my life I have been passionate about network and system security, security architecture, security operations and incident response. I will leave the judgment about my knowledge, capacities and value in the matter to the reader, my potential clients.
When g3rt was founded in 2018, it was for purely practical considerations stemming from the direction my IT career was taking. g3rt initially served only to monetize my experience and passion in IT. In 2022, as I rewrite this deed, I would like to redefine the purpose and values of g3rt.
I once dreamt to fill my days with complex IT problems and challenging security requirements. That dream is now reality. As a child, I had many other dreams, such as becoming a writer, photographer, pilot or ... . g3rt should provide the framework to pursue those dreams.
Starting with my first computer in 1992, my interest on the inner workings of IT-systems was sparked. My dream was to understand as much as possible about everything controlled by bits and bytes and the intermediate connections needed for 0 and 1 to fulfill their ever-growing value. From there it was the logical next step for me to try and defend or manipulate these systems. Now, I'm living the dream.
Especially in my young years I liked to write some poetry or a good story. My passion for storytelling translated later on mostly into role playing. I always claimed I'd write a book before I die. Wondering if I will succeed.
Since I was 14 years old I play the guitar and percussion. My passion for music has been prominent throughout my life. I dream music can some day take an even more important place in life.
My interest in photography goes back to my solemn communion, when I got my first camera as a present. My attention mostly goes to drone videography, action videography, underwater photography and other nature pictures.
Understanding what makes things tick and how it all works, from low level to high has always been my drive. Physics of flight, chemics in reaction; I dreamed of discovering it all.
From the first moment my ski's touched the snow I was lost to the feeling of speed and freedom among the grandeur of the mountains. I dream of experiencing a full season in the mountains, following the best snow conditions throughout the Alps.
Probably everybody sometimes dreams of being so rich you don't have to mind about money anymore whatsoever. I dream too.
It's not my goal to pursue all these dreams/activities immediately, but I want g3rt as a company to give me the opportunity to make these dreams just a little more attainable. I want g3rt to provide the flexibility to pursue my - admittedly diverse - interests when the opportunity presents itself.
